In 2024, the Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants launched the project "Providing Accommodation and Care for Unaccompanied Minors". The purpose of the project is to implement a systematic arrangement of accommodation and professional care for children. The project finances the accommodation of unaccompanied minors in appropriate premises and 24-hour care, which is provided by professionally trained staff. The operation is 90% co-financed by the European Union from the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). |

Detention during the asylum procedure |
The government adopted new rules on residing in the Centre for Foreigners. If the house rules of the Centre for Foreigners are breached, the provisions of the act regulating foreigners' entry into, departure from and stay in Slovenia, which provide for measures in the event of breaches of the house rules of the Centre for Foreigners, shall apply to the detained applicants for international protection. |

In the Accommodation Facility for Unaccompanied Minors in Postojna, support is provided by Slovenian Philanthropy within the project "Psychosocial Support and Leisure Activities for Unaccompanied Minors" (partially financed from AMIF funds). Slovenian Philanthropy implements leisure and educational activities (tutorial assistance) during the week. |

The Council of Ministers approved an action plan on migration, which is divided into three main areas of action: regulating migration; integration and institutional reorganisation. The measures include institutional reorganisation, for example restructuring AIMA's competencies and internal organisation, strengthening AIMA's human and technological resources, transferring services for residence permit renewal applications from the Institute of Registries and Notary (IRN) to AIMA, creating an Aliens and Borders Unit in the Public Security Police and reinstating the Migration Observatory as a state body. |
